چکیده

مطالعات سکه‌شناسی ساسانی از اواخر قرن هجدهم میلادی آغاز شد و تا کنون پیشرفت‌های چشم‌گیری داشته است، به‌گونه‌ای که امروز پاسخ بسیاری از پرسش‌ها و ابهامات تاریخ و باستان‌شناسی دورۀ ساسانی از تحقیقات سکه‌شناختی به‌دست می‌آید. این مقاله در سه بخش جداگانه، به مسائل عمومی و بنیادی سکه‌شناسی ساسانی می‌پردازد تا خوانندگان فارسی‌زبان را از سرگذشت و دستاوردهای تحقیقات سکه‌شناسی ساسانی از آغاز تا امروز، مجموعه‌های مهم سکه‌های ساسانی در ایران و جهان، رویکردهای نو و مبانی روش‌شناختی این مطالعات آگاه سازد.

The beginning of studies on Sasanian numismatics goes back to the 18^th century. Since then Sasanian numismatics has experienced different periods and schools and remarkably advanced by new approaches and methods. Today, many questions of Sasanian history and archaeology find numismatic answers. The present paper is arranged in three general parts, which, respectively, provide an introduction to the history of Sasanian numismatics from the 18^th century up to now, major collections of Sasanian coins in the world, and new methodological bases and approaches of modern studies on Sasanian numismatics.
