Since the nineteenth century, due to Iran’s extensive contacts with the West, many social macroeconomic problems have emerged, and some of them have played a crucial role in the production of social structures and social relations, hence the full understanding of today’s major social problems needs the understanding of the complexities and evolution of historical problems up to this day. Such an understanding, however, is difficult to arrive at since identifying and describing the historical issues of each period is heavily influenced by the thinking system of the socio-political power of its time. In this research, a categorization of issues is presented based on a source containing unique data from the challenges and issues of the early twentieth century Iran. The archived documents of the Divan-e Adliyeh Aazam, based on their legal and judicial nature, provide a set of data that will answer the question as to what were the macrosocial issues of Iran in the period under consideration. مطالعات مسائل اجتماعی در ایران، بر موقعیت امروز تمرکز دارد و به دلایل مختلف از رهیافت‌های تاریخی به دور مانده است. از سدۀ 13/19 در اثر تماس‌های گسترده ایران با غرب، بسیاری مسائل اجتماعی کلان اجتماعی به وجود آمده و برخی از آن‌ها، در تولید ساختارها و مناسبات اجتماعی نقشی سرنوشت‌ساز ایفا کردند، ازاین‌رو فهم همه جانبه مسائل کلان اجتماعی امروزی نیازمند درک پیچیدگی‌ها و تطور مسائل تاریخی تا به امروز است اما نیل به این امر کار دشواری است؛ چراکه در چگونگی شناسایی و وصف مسئله‌های تاریخی هر دوره، به شدت تحت تأثیر نظام اندیشه‌ای قدرت سیاسی و اجتماعی زمانه خود قرار دارد. در این پژوهش با تکیه بر یک سنخ منبع، حاوی داده‌های منحصر به فرد از چالش‌ها و مسائل اوایل سدۀ 14/20 ایران، مقوله‌بندی از مسائل اجتماعی ارائه می‌شود. اسناد بایگانی دیوان عدلیه اعظم بنا به ماهیت حقوقی و قضایی آن، مجموعه‌ای از داده‌هایی را به دست می‌دهد که به این پرسش پاسخ خواهد داد که در دورۀ مورد نظر چه مسائل کلان اجتماعی وجود داشت؟ این پژوهش با روش و رویکرد تحلیل داده‌ها به شیوۀ کیفی و استخراج داده‌ها و مقوله‌بندی آن‌ها از متون مورد نظر، انجام شد و در این مرحله تمرکز بر شناسایی و مقوله‌بندی مسائل کلان اجتماعی بود. تحقیق نشان داد چالش‌های اقتصادی و حقوقی ـ قضایی، اصلی‌ترین مسائل کلان اجتماعی در جامعه ایران در آغاز سدۀ 14/20 بود. https://jis.ut.ac.ir/article_73437_66af57a8a3adb78467a9126723558ae9.pdf
